How To Get Started in Archery

Back in 1961, I couldn’t wait for the weekend and the next episode of American Sportsman. Most of the time, it was a fishing or hunting expedition. Curt Gowdy, Lee Wolfe, or some celebrity would go on a deep-sea fishing trip or African Safari to the next exotic expedition. But sometimes it was Fred Bear or even Howard Hill hunting grizzly bear or African big game with a simple longbow or recurve. That’s how it started for me.

The question is: How can I help you get started? It was a real struggle in those early years. There was no instructor or mentor for me and it’s a miracle that I was able to find enough TV shows or books to show me a way to improve my technique. Fortunately, it’s not so difficult today.

So if you have any desire to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow or just want to improve your own abilities, come see us. It’s not as difficult as I thought it was way back when! We recommend you train with someone before buying equipment and then when you understand some of the options and learn your specialty, you can invest in your future with confidence.

We can teach you the latest USA Archery NTS technique for Olympic Target Recurve or any Compound bow. We can work with you on a basic bowhunter agenda or just help you get your own equipment sighted in and tuned up for next season. Check out our Archery Class here.
